Guidelines
*Be literate - at least act like someone who can use proper English
*I like playing male very much; please do not confine yourself to only female though
*Long-term preferred, please
*Keep your character from being cliche
*Refrain from metagaming; your in-game character should not know out-of-game information
*Do not ever steal my characters
Sometimes,
it may take me a while to get back to you. I have a life outside of
roleplay, and I have things I need to do. If you think I've permanently
ignored you (ie: have not replied or told you in advance I'd be
delayed) I probably have. I tend to quit replying to roleplays that
bore me.
I roleplay at a variety of
places. I do find, though, that email is probably the best for
one-on-one roleplays. Otherwise, I will roleplay on forums online, as
well as popular community sites. I am prohibited from using AIM, so
sorry for those who prefer using the IM system. I do have the G-Chat
instant messaging system, a feature exclusive to Gmail, so I can use
that as well. Check out my Contact Information page for details.
Subject Matter
These are the types of
roleplay I favour. However, I am also fine to play any other genre you
suggest. I really do not mind at all. A good roleplay is a good
roleplay, no matter what.
ANIME/MANGA
Naruto:
It can be good, it can be horrid. I've had great times with friends.
Generally, I prefer to use OCs. If we're going by canon characters, my
favourite characters are Orochimaru, Hidan, and Suigetsu.
Bleach:
Eh, like Naruto, this can be good, can be horrid. Have not roleplayed
this one so extensively, but all the roleplays I've had were good. I
have some intriguing OCs but again, if we're going canon, I will only
play Nnoitra, Gin, Szayel, or Grimmjow
FMA:
This one's love. Never done it before, but I have lots of original
characters. The only canon character I play is Kimbley. I also go
exclusively by the manga as I have never watched the anime.
MOVIES/BOOKS
I
am pretty open to suggestions here. Not an enormous fan of playing
canon characters, unfortunately... so that rather restricts the
roleplay I can do.
OTHER CATEGORIES
Zoomorph:
Often known as DNA, this basically involves a human whose DNA has been
spliced with animal DNA, giving him/her animal characteristics. I'm
less interested in girls and boys with wolf tails/ears and more
interested in playing up the conflicted clash of primal instinct and
refined intellect.
Steampunk:
This has become a trite term for a wonderfully complex genre with many,
many possiblities. A combination of 'retro' technology with a
futuristic setting makes for a fascinating universe where any decade is
at home.
Horror:
Not so much ghosts or zombies; those are a bit lame. I prefer Silent
Hill-esque horror with lots of psychological and mental toying and a
gradual decline of sanity. Lovecraftian references and all are bliss.
WILL NOT DO...
Twilight Series:
This series is utter bullshit. From the characters' physical
descriptions, to personalities, to relationships. It can be an amusing
read if you're retarded or something, but it makes for shitty and
boring roleplay.
Fantasy:
By this, I mostly mean elves/dwarves/dragons, etc. Basically, World of
Warcraft fantasy. I've outgrown it. It's boring, it's complicated... I
just won't do it.
Animals:
Don't like wolves/horses. Sorry. I like animal-and-humans combined...
but not really animals themselves. Except for cats. I will roleplay the
Warriors series if there is an exciting plot.
iShip
I roleplay romances, and ship certain couples.
On
that note, I particularly hate gushy, love-at-first-sight
romances. Which would partially explain my dislike of Twilight, I
suppose. I also really dislike one-dimensional characters. Maybe I'm
picky, but I would prefer my romances to be interesting, filled with
tension. For me, it's definitely not about descriptive, lewdly carnal
roleplay. While that can add a touch of the risque, I focus more on
stimulating banter and plot twists. Opposites attract. It's really
better if the two involved hate each other... or at least clash
frequently.
These
are a list of couples I support, both from pre-existing series and from
roleplays. No, I do not support out-of-character pairings. Never have,
probably never will. And yes, I mostly ship straight couples. I mostly
prefer straight relationships, period.
